Management Accountant

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Management Accountant to join a well-established, multi-site organisation based near Slough.

This is a key role in the business working closely as a business partner with the Operations and Sales Teams preparing budgets and forecast and delivering the monthly management accounts for your area whilst working closely with the business operation to provide meaningful information and analysis for informed decision making.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that appropriate analysis is provided to the relevant parties on a timely basis and also to support with all ad-hoc information requests.
  • Proactive interrogation of information to identify any issues, trends and patterns, and working with management on using/approaching these.
  • Work with all teams to ensure the P&L’s are accurate and submitted on a timely basis Assist in carrying out financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting for all locations
  • Analysing and understanding variance to budget and prior periods; highlighting any potential areas of concerns to the appropriate people
  • Prepare the designated locations management accounts so that the operational management team are able to properly assess the financial performance of that location, region or nationally
  • Must be willing and able to visit locations in the South West of the UK on an ad-hoc basis and assist in training non-financial staff to better use and complete the existing reports
  • Maintenance of the Weekly P&L and supporting files
  • Completion of daily and weekly reporting such as revenue, cost and volumes
  • Actively participate in the preparation of the locations budgets
  • Preparation of monthly accruals and prepayment schedules
  • Monthly balance sheet reconciliations
  • Actively participate in various ad-hoc projects

Requirements

  • Strong excel skills including working with large amounts of data
  • Ideally, minimum 1-2 years’ experience gained in a finance function whilst preferably studying for professional exams
  • The candidate would ideally have experience of supporting non-finance individuals
  • Used to working to and achieving tight deadlines while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Some experience of management accounts
  • Financial systems experience desirable
  • Must possess a Driving licence
  • Have strong analytical and organisational skills and a questioning approach
  • Keen eye for detail
  • Ability to not only create accurate reports but question and review the numbers and their impact
  • Ability to continually review the reports produced by themselves and the team for their effectiveness within the business
  • Strong communication skills are essential
  • Be a team player with ability to follow procedures and guidelines to achieve successful team outcomes

The ideal candidate will be a proactive team player, able to prioritise workloads, with the ability to communicate effectively. You will enjoy working in a fast paced and rewarding working environment that truly supports the development and progression of the individual. You will undertake a hybrid working pattern with 4 days based in the office and 1 day at home. Occasional travel will be required to operational locations based in the South West.
