Marc Daniels is partnering with a large, fast‑paced FTSE-listed business to recruit a Senior Accounts Payable Manager to lead a high‑performing AP function. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced AP leader to shape strategy, drive process excellence, and play a key role in an evolving Finance Shared Services environment.
This role will suit a confident, forward‑thinking AP professional who thrives in a dynamic setting, enjoys leading sizeable teams, and is passionate about best‑in‑class service delivery.
The Role
Key responsibilities include:
  • Leading the Accounts Payable function, ensuring a smooth end‑to‑end process from invoice receipt through to payment
  • Managing, coaching, and developing a large AP team (20+), fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and service excellence
  • Acting as a senior partner to Finance, Procurement, and operational stakeholders, building strong relationships across the business
  • Overseeing high‑volume invoice processing, credit notes, exception management, and supplier payments in line with SLAs
  • Serving as the senior escalation point for key suppliers and internal customers
  • Driving continuous improvement across processes, systems, reporting, and controls
  • Supporting transformation initiatives, embedding standardised processes and enhanced automation
  • Ensuring robust financial controls, compliance, and audit readiness
  • Monitoring KPIs, dashboards, and performance metrics to ensure targets are met
The Ideal Candidate
  • 6-8+ years’ experience in a senior Accounts Payable or P2P leadership role within a shared services or complex environment
  • Proven track record of standardising and improving AP processes
  • Strong leadership skills with experience managing large teams
  • Excellent stakeholder management and influencing ability
  • Strong understanding of financial controls, compliance, and AP best practice
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel; experience with ERP/AP systems
  • Continuous improvement mindset with the resilience to thrive in a fast‑paced environment
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience in change management
