An established professional services business is seeking an experienced and hands-on Accountant to provide additional support during a busy finance period, with a particular focus on audit preparation, reconciliations and wider finance operations.

This is a broad and varied role suited to somebody who can quickly adapt to a new environment, work independently and support multiple finance priorities simultaneously.

Key Responsibilities

• Support preparation for the external audit process
• Coordinate audit requests and supporting documentation
• Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and investigate variances
• Assist with month-end close activities
• Prepare journals, accruals and prepayments
• Support financial controls and process documentation
• Assist with reporting and ad hoc financial analysis
• Work closely with stakeholders across the business
• Support ongoing finance improvement projects

Candidate Profile

• ACA / ACCA / CIMA qualified or strong QBE background
• Previous experience supporting year-end audit activity
• Strong balance sheet reconciliation experience
• Strong Excel capability including Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP and data analysis
• Hands-on and proactive approach
• Able to work independently and quickly understand processes
• Strong organisational and communication skills
• Experience within professional services environments beneficial
