IR35: Are you ready?
On 6th April 2021 changes in IR35 legislation come into force for medium and large companies in the private sector engaging self-employed contractors as part of their workforce.
With the imminent IR35 changes impacting the contract market in the Private Sector, Marc Daniels have partnered with Brookson Legal, a law firm with 19 years’ experience of advising on IR35, to ensure that you have all the relevant information about the new legislation and what it means to you.
With the new IR35 rules impacting the Private Sector now only a few weeks away, there is a concern about the use and validity of employment assessment status using “online tools” such as HMRC’s CEST.
Using online tools that cannot guarantee reasonable care when assessing a role can come with many financial risks for businesses, and we want to help you minimise any potential legal and tax liability exposure.
To make sure you have accurate information to hand, Brookson Legal have put together a three-part blog series explaining the issues of using an IR35 online tool. Each blog identifies the problems and explains the issues this can cause.
So, what are the issues of using an online tool?
• Part 1 – Lack of knowledge and training on IR35
• Part 2 – Contractual and working practice review
• Part 3 – An unqualified 3rd party completing your assessments
You can read the blog series by clicking here, and find out how to avoid making the same mistakes as others.
Please do get in touch with your consultant at Marc Daniels if you would like further help or information or wish for us to put you in touch with one of our Brookson Representatives.
